Common Threads: New Media Gallery Reception & Exhibition

Common Thread | Works by Sharla Fell
The New Media Gallery at Ventura College will host a solo exhibition by faculty member Sharla Fell from January 23–February 20, 2020. Fell is a process-oriented artist whose work celebrates and explores the forms and colors found in the natural world. A process that starts with freehand drawings, pastels, paintings, and fabric collages morphs into a digitally assembled, manipulated, and combined work that is then printed onto fabric with additional layers of collage and surface embellishment. This approach engages the viewer with a sense of familiar intimacy with the interwoven relationship of the natural world through her use of fabric and collage.
