    Rendezvous at the Zoo

Join us Thursday October 12th, 5:00pm to 9:00pm, for an unforgettable evening of fundraising under the stars honoring Martine Colette, founder and director of The Wildlife Waystation, at this year’s Rendezvous at the Zoo. Animal encounters, student presentations, hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction will all be "paired" with Malibu Family Wines on the sprawling terrace adjacent to the zoo. Proceeds benefit America's Teaching Zoo's Master Plan, which will bring larger more naturalistic habitats for our big cats to call home.

Moorpark College Theatre Arts presents A Streetcar Named Desire

    October 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21 @ 8pm and October 15, 22 @ 2pm

Presented in arrangement with Dramatists Play Service Inc. on behalf of The University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee the classical American drama 'A Streetcar Named Desire', is easily one of the most influential works of modern American literature. In this riveting story of raw emotion, conflict and loss, Tennessee Williams explores passion with daring honesty, and forges a poetic theatre of multidimensional psychological insight that shatters conventional proprieties and transformed the American stage. 'A Streetcar Named Desire' reveals to the very depths the character of Blanche du Bois, a woman whose life has been undermined by her romantic illusions, which lead her to reject—so far as possible—the realities of life with which she is faced and which she consistently ignores. The pressure brought to bear upon Blanche by her sister, Stella, with whom she goes to live in New Orleans and only intensifies when Stella’s earthy and extremely 'normal' young husband, Stanley, leads her to a revelation of tragic self-delusion and madness.

    SAVE BRIANA

Briana Lopez, a 12-year-old seventh grader, is battling an aggressive and rare form of leukemia. She has the adorable innocent smile of a child but the strength of someone far older. Briana desperately needs to find a life saving bone marrow match. A stranger contributing to the National Reg-istry could save her life. Join the Registry today! It only takes 5 minutes to fill out a form and swab your cheek. Being of Hispanic decent makes finding Briana’s life sav-ing match a lot harder because we do not have enough Latinos on the National Registry. By adding more people to the Registry that fall into the Latin demographic makes us that much closer to saving Briana’s life!
